Campaign Update
United Way of Henderson County’s 2015 Campaign officially kicked off Friday, September 11. Over 300 volunteers fanned out into the community work on over 40 projects at local nonprofit agencies as we celebrated the campaign ahead. Representatives of SELEE Corporation presented a check to United Way for $36,795 as the result of their Pacesetter campaign
Since Kickoff, we have been busy with numerous workplace campaigns. Loaned Executives and staff are working with Employee Campaign Coordinators all across the county – early morning to late at night, weekdays and weekends – to raise funds that will help strengthen Henderson County for everyone. Pledge cards and letters are reaching mailboxes, asking individuals to get involved and to give generously. And our biggest advocates are speaking up for us with their friends, coworkers, and even on the radio and in newspapers.
Every effort, every gift, every hour of volunteerism, is crucial to this campaign and to helping us achieve the goals set forth in HC2025, United Way’s Ten-Year Plan to Improve the Community. We encourage you to get involved. Answer the call to action: Give. Advocate. Volunteer. LIVE UNITED!
Ways to Give include:
Check or Credit Card: One check or credit card donation to United Way each year can take care of all your charitable donations to 26 agencies.
Securities: Gifts of appreciated securities can be deducted at their full market value from your adjusted gross income. Such gifts also avoid the liability for capital gains tax, thus providing you with a double tax benefit. Check with your tax advisor to know what your tax benefits will be.
Planned Giving: Naming United Way of Henderson County in your will, or selecting one of many proven ways to donate appreciated assets to charity creates a legacy of caring that will extend your support well into the future. It also may provide income or estate tax benefits.
